Consultant for Basline Livelihoods Assessment in West Darfur

HelpAge wishes to engage a consultant to conduct a baseline livelihoods assessment in Habilla Locality (Habilla town and two surrounding villages of Gobi and Tawang). The consultant will:

• Access and review the literature related to livelihoods, food security and local economy (examining reports, project proposal and budget and visiting other institutions working in the area) • Develop suitable detailed field data collection tools (qualitative and quantitative) • Develop an inception report, detailing the methodology, indicators, tools, work plan schedule and budget to carry out the assignment. This will be developed and finalized in consultation with HelpAge team. • Lead the baseline livelihoods assessment team. • Facilitate training of field staff and pre‐testing of data collection tools in collaboration with the HelpAge team. • Co‐ordinate collection of data, and supervise data entry and analysis. • Analyze and interpret the findings, working closely with the HelpAge assessment team. • Compile and submit the draft report, make a presentation to HelpAge, incorporate comments and submit a final report. • Prepare the final report and submit to the Livelihoods Coordinator and Darfur Programme Manager.
